President says there is no connection to Isis, but national police chief is more cautious
In his first remarks on the assault on a Manila casino which left at least 37 people dead, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said the attacker was simply “crazy”. He discounted any links to the Islamic State group, saying this “is not the work of Isis. The work of the Isis is more cruel and brutal.”
National police chief Ronald dela Rosa, however, has not yet ruled out a link to terrorism.
