Vietnam to prosecute American for 'causing trouble' during protests – state media

William Nguyen from Texas accused of urging people to climb over barricades during anti-government rally in Ho Chi Minh city

Police in Vietnam have issued a prosecution order for an American man of Vietnamese descent accused of involvement in anti-government protests, state media reported.

William Anh Nguyen, born in 1985, was one of thousands of people who protested in Ho Chi Minh city on Sunday against a draft law to develop economic zones under which land leases of up to 99 years will be offered to investors. The American from Houston, Texas, is currently studying in Singapore.
