Tsunami hits Indonesian cities after powerful earthquake

Houses swept away and people missing on island of Sulawesi after magnitude 7.5 quake

A powerful earthquake has rocked the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, triggering a tsunami that an official said swept away houses in at least two cities.

The tsunami hit Palu, the capital of central Sulawesi province, Donggala, a smaller city, and several other coastal settlements, said Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, a spokesman for Indonesia’s disaster agency.
