Move follows concession in private that extradition bill at centre of protests is dead
Hong Kong’s embattled chief executive is expected to offer an apology to protesters in person, local media have reported, the day after she said in private that the extradition law that sparked mass demonstrations was effectively dead.
Carrie Lam is expected to hold a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, the South China Morning Post said, after protesters rejected a brief statement she put out after a historic march on Sunday as inadequate and impersonal.
