Bill Shorten tells Labor MP to reconfirm her status with the Egyptian embassy

Fresh questions have been raised about the Labor MP Anne Aly’s eligibility to sit in federal parliament, in a sign that the damaging dual citizenship fiasco may not be over.

After the high court ruled unanimously this week that the Labor senator Katy Gallagher was ineligible to sit in parliament, it set off a chain of four MPs – including three Labor MPs – resigning.
