British public advised to stay safe at festivals and sporting events over holiday weekend amid increased terror threat

Counter-terrorism police have urged the public to be vigilant over the bank holiday weekend in the face of the increased terror threat.

They said there was no specific threat in relation to events taking place but that crowded places were particularly vulnerable. There have already been attacks in the UK this year on Westminster Bridge, London Bridge/Southwark market, in Finsbury Park, north London, and at an Ariana Grande concert, at the Manchester Arena.
