Police called to a dispute in Carlingford in the early hours of Friday morning
A five-year-old boy has died from stab wounds after an early-morning domestic dispute at a home in Sydney’s north-west, in what police have described as a “horrible, brutal” crime.
The boy was taken to Children’s hospital at Westmead in a critical condition but died at 8am on Friday, police said. A man is now in police custody.
The dispute occurred at 7am at a Carlingford property where the boy, the man and the boy’s grandmother lived together.
Police said the man was related to the boy and was known to police, but would not provide further details. “They are related but we don’t wish to discuss that further,” Det Supt Rob Critchlow told reporters.
