Some survivors had to leave the meeting early, while some victims’ relatives were angered by the coroner’s declaration that recovery could take months
Victims’ families and survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire have spent more than two hours in an emotional and highly charged session with the police commander in charge of the ongoing police operation and the coroner tasked with identifying the dead, in the first official meeting with investigators.
Survivors and relatives were finding the meeting very upsetting, according to Lotifa Begum from Muslim Aid – a charity helping to organise funerals for the some of the victims.
