At least 52 Palestinians were killed and more than 2000 wounded during clashes at the Gaza-Israel border during protest against the opening of the US embassy in Jerusalem. Palestinians are also marking the Nakba, or the day of the disaster, when Palestinians were forcefully expelled from their villages during the war that led to the creation of the state of Israel in 1948
