Thomas Orchard died days after being arrested and restrained at a police station in Exeter

A judge cannot be sure a restraint belt placed across the face of a mentally ill man while in police custody contributed to him suffering a fatal cardiac arrest, a court has heard.

Thomas Orchard, 32, died in hospital seven days after being arrested and taken to Heavitree Road police station in Exeter, Devon, in October 2012.
