Demonstrators in Memphis briefly shut down a stretch of highway with a “rolling block party” protest Tuesday afternoon, blocking traffic off with vehicles and standing in the way of oncoming cars while dancing and chanting in the intersection.

The action, near a major shipping hub, which lasted over half an hour, came on the eve of the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s assassination in the Tennessee city.
