‘Words fail us,’ say police after four men had to be helped down from England’s highest mountain, in Lake District

Four men were rescued from England’s highest mountain after “becoming incapable of walking due to cannabis use”, police have said.

Cumbria constabulary were called at around 6.30pm on Saturday evening after the group ran into difficulty on Scafell Pike, a 978-metre peak in the Lake District.
