Met Office issues yellow snow warning for Scotland, Northern Ireland and north-east England

A blast of wintry weather will affect most parts of the UK this weekend with snow already causing problems for travellers in Scotland.

A Met Office yellow warning for snow is in place until Saturday night for much of Scotland, Northern Ireland and north-east England. As much as 10cm of snow could fall on higher ground, forecasters said. Wind and rain are forecast for Wales with strong gusts expected on the south coast.
