Home Office ignored concerns over ‘disproportionate concentrations of asylum seekers’, they say

Council leaders have threatened to pull out of a scheme to house asylum seekers unless their concerns over the current system are addressed.

In letter to the home secretary, Sajid Javid, the heads of 14 local authorities across Yorkshire warned that the current system was at risk of “catastrophic failure”. They said their concerns over “cohesion or disproportionate concentrations of asylum seekers” in some places had been ignored by the Home Office.
