Water cannon and teargas fired to disperse hundreds of opposition supporters, amid claims of vote-rigging

Zimbabwean soldiers have joined police in running clashes with hundreds of protesters in Harare who say the country’s presidential election is being rigged.

Police fired water cannon and teargas to disperse protesters as military helicopters flew overhead. There were unconfirmed reports that one person had been shot dead near a bus rank.
